Pelletizer Cutter Hubs for Underwater Pelletizers
JINFENG manufactures flexible and rigid pelletizer cutter hubs (knife hubs or knife holders) from customer drawings or existing samples, including large hubs for 300,000 t/a lines. Hubs can be supplied on their own or fitted with complete JINFENG pelletizing knives, and worn hubs can be reconditioned.
What a Cutter Hub Does
The cutter hub is the circular hub or disc that carries the pelletizing knives. It is mounted on the pelletizer shaft, transmits the shaft torque to the knives, and holds every knife in position against the face of the die plate. Knife seats, the shaft connection, and the hub's flatness all affect how evenly the knives cut across the die face.
Flexible and Rigid Cutter Hubs
JINFENG makes both main hub designs. They differ in how torque is transmitted from the pelletizer shaft and how the knife-to-die-plate gap is held.

Custom Cutter Hubs from Drawings or Samples
Each hub is made to the customer's pelletizer. The evaluation covers:
- Overall dimensions and hub type
- Shaft connection and mounting interfaces
- Number and position of knives
- Knife seat geometry and fixing
- Relationship between the knives and the die plate
- Operating conditions
Hubs are machined in JINFENG's own workshop and checked against the drawing before delivery. Pelletizer shafts and complete rotor assemblies are outside the supply scope.
Cutter Hubs with Complete Knives
Cutter hubs and knives can be supplied together as a set. JINFENG supplies complete pelletizing knives with TiC-NiCr cermet, TiC-Fe, or tool-steel working areas; it does not supply individual blades.

Cutter Hub Reconditioning
Worn cutter hubs can be reconditioned, checked, and returned with a test report, often at the same time as a die plate repair.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I choose a flexible or a rigid cutter hub?
The hub type normally follows your pelletizer design and how it controls the knife-to-die-plate gap. JINFENG makes both types and confirms the required design from the drawing, the existing hub, and the pelletizer information.
Can you make a cutter hub from a sample without a drawing?
Yes. An existing hub can be measured and evaluated together with photos, the shaft connection, the knife positions, and the pelletizer information.
Do you supply the pelletizer shaft or the complete rotor assembly?
No. JINFENG supplies cutter hubs and complete pelletizing knives. Pelletizer shafts and complete rotor assemblies are outside the supply scope.
Can a worn cutter hub be reconditioned?
Yes. Worn cutter hubs can be reconditioned, checked, and supplied with a test report, and new knives can be supplied for the reconditioned hub.
